The
Centennial Chapter responds to nearly 1,000
calls for help every year from north
Colorado military families.
Using the latest in computer and
telecommunications technology, the Red Cross
sends communications on behalf of family
members who are facing emergencies or other
important events to members of the U.S.
Armed Forces serving all over the world.
These communications are delivered
around-the-clock, 7 days a week, 365 days a
year.
Across the country, It is estimated that
a message is relayed every 20 seconds
between Red Cross chapters, stations, and
ships at sea; sharing news of loved one’s
illness, or death or providing emergency
financial assistance to service members and
their families.
Both active duty and community based
military can count on the Red Cross to
provide emergency communications that link
them with their families back home, access
to financial assistance, and counseling
assistance to veterans.
Volunteer opportunities are available if
you would like to become a military
caseworker and provide much need support for
our troops and their families. All training
is provided free of charge.
Part of the Service to Armed Forces program also includes
the Get to Know Us Before You Need Us
Program, which briefs National Guard,
Reserve and ROTC personnel and their
families about the services we provide, in
case they should need us. Presentations for
these military groups can also be conducted
by volunteers.
Please contact
Jason Godinez for more
information about volunteer opportunities in
Service to Armed Forces.
